|Title:||Mean platelet volume in schizophrenia unaltered after 1year of clozapine exposure|
|Alternate Journal:||Schizophrenia research|
|Abstract:||This study investigated the MPV of patients with major psychoses before and after 1year of clozapine exposure. Data were obtained from chart reviews of patients who were initiated on clozapine at the Centre of Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto. 100 patients were eligible for this study; 65 remained on clozapine after 1year. Prior to clozapine initiation, MPV was 10.79+/-0.91fL and there was no difference in MPV after 1year of clozapine exposure (p=0.777). We found high MPV in patients with schizophrenia and related psychoses, which was unaltered after 1year of clozapine treatment.|
